So it turns out that all my playing around with jQuery (the thing I was using for the fancy effects) broke the email function, so nobody has been able to send out emails to people through the website for over a week!

I've rolled back my changes and people should once again be able to send emails.

Sorry about that. I'm going to try and find a solution so that I can carry on adding cool features.

I think I have sorted out the issues with logging in, but you may still need to do a refresh of your browser if it doesn't look like you've logged in (i.e. there are no 'Edit' links on your ad page).

It also seems that people's names didn't come across to the new site very reliably. People were either missing their firstname, lastname, or both! I've gone through all the ones missing their firstnames and corrected them, so everything should be good from now on.

Website launched!

So I took the plunge and swapped over to the new website. All looks good, however there seems to be a problem with logging in. I'm not entirely sure where the problem is, but if you log in and it doesn't look like you've logged in, try refreshing your web browser's window.

Anyway, I'll keep looking into it.

Let me know what you think of the redesign!

Photo uploading problems

Lots of people have been emailing me saying that they can't add photos to their profile. I'm not entirely sure what is going on here, but the problem only seems to occur when people are uploading large photos (i.e. the ones that came straight off the camera).

The solution seems to be to shrink the photos down before trying to upload them. A size of 640x480 should work ok.

If you have problems with either resizing them or uploading them, please just email the photos to admin@canz.co.nz and I can take care of them for you.

More email problems!

Godzone (the company that hosts CANZ) are currently having problems sending to Xtra email accounts. This means that emails sent through the CANZ website to Xtra accounts may not get there.

If you are signed up to CANZ and using an Xtra email address, it may be worth using a different one if possible.
